About the Role
As our Head of People, you'll build and lead Salient's people function during a critical growth phase. You'll develop and implement comprehensive talent strategies that enable us to attract, develop, and retain exceptional team members while fostering a high-performance culture aligned with our values. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition to engagement and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute full-cycle recruiting strategies to identify, attract, and hire top talent across engineering, product, sales, and operations
- Build scalable onboarding processes that quickly integrate new hires and set them up for success
- Develop and implement competitive compensation structures, benefits programs, and performance management systems
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Create and nurture a positive company culture that drives engagement and retention
- Partner with leadership to forecast hiring needs and develop organizational structure as we scale
- Implement HRIS and other technology solutions to streamline people operations
- Provide strategic counsel to executives on people-related matters and organizational development
- Manage sensitive employee relations issues with discretion and compassion
Requirements
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience, with experience at high-growth startups
- Deep expertise in talent acquisition, including sourcing strategies, interview processes, and closing candidates
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements
- Experience designing and implementing compensation and benefits programs
- Track record of building scalable HR processes and systems from the ground up
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build trust at all levels
- Strategic mindset balanced with hands-on execution capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; HR certifications a plus
- 4 days in-person in San Francisco
